It's better to give than receive. But if you can give and receive, why not go for it?

The RDU Mom's Nite Out is selling tickets for $20 per mom. Why pay $20 for a night to yourself? Perhaps we haven't made ourselves clear.

Here's what $20 gets you...

Let us entertain you:
  • Mom Makeover sponsored by Michelle Little, One Chic Mama: Michele will choose a mom from the crowd and give her a makeover - hair team standing by to do styling, Michele to do makeup or choose a partner to do it and donate products, Michele to accessorize, then send her away with gift cards for a new haircut, and shopping. Chosen Mom will have an on-site transformation with the means to go further on her own time.
  • Baby Simplified by GreenPea Baby: Design your nursery, update your child’s room, and complete your baby registry on-site with personalized service and affordable custom solutions.
  • Social Media Avatar Photo Shoot with Shallyse Gastelum:  Every Mom in attendance is invited to have a complimentary photo taken to be used for her social media communities, such as Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, and more.
  • Pampering Station sponsored by Jami Cruikshank, Mary Kay Consultant:  Jami Cruikshank, Mary Kay consultant, will bring colleagues with her to provide stations for mini-services, will give each Mom mini satin hands sets, which include night emollient cream, hand cream and a scrub.

We are giving a RDU Moms shout-out to Sarah Hall at the Go Ask Mom desk at WRAL.com. She has been really helpful at promoting our event and has even posted on their site about the event. Check it out as a great resource for Triangle moms!

We also are thrilled that Carolina Parent.com, the Triangle's Family Resource, has featured our event in their 2010 Mother's Day Guide. After the fun from our night out is over, make sure you visit for ideas on how to make it last all weekend!

RDU Mom's Nite Out has a preferred babysitter service that can help you get out of the house for a few hours.

Need a sitter for the evening so you can enjoy a few hours without the kiddos to have fun and pamper yourself? (Which you TOTALLY deserve!!)

If so, check out Sitter Connection, www.sitterconnection.net, Wake County's professional local babysitter referral service which aims to "connect families with sitters."

All sitters are at least 18 years of age and have gone through an application process, reference checks, background check and in-person interview. Just send us an e-mail if you'll be needing a sitter and we'll give you a discounted one-time placement fee of only $5 instead of the regular $15! Sitters will be paid directly by the client; average is $10-$12/hr.

Please call or e-mail Amanda, founder and owner, with any questions, 919.412.7499 or sitterconnection@gmail.com

NATIONAL MOM'S NITE OUT 2010!

Look out Triangle, mom's are taking the night off! The second annual National Mom's Nite Out is scheduled for May 6, 2009 at the Embassy Suites of Cary, NC and includes entertainment, drinks, prizes and chocolate - lots and lots of chocolate. Moms are encouraged to come relax, put their feet up, grab a drink and celebrate all that is MOM!

Organized by Molly Gold of Go Mom Inc., local companies like Scandinavian Child, Green Pea Baby, and One Chic Mama have come together with a fantastic group of local bloggers to put together a fabulous event where Moms get a well-deserved night off. The event will feature pampering stations, fashion tips, amazing North Carolina focused giveaways and much more. And better yet, proceeds from the event benefit local charity, Nancy's Butterfly Fund.

"We wanted to put together an event that would not only encourage moms with kids of all ages to come out for a night that's all about them, but an event where we could give back to our community." said event organizer, Molly Gold. "Domestic violence is such a horrific issue that usually stays quiet. We want to bring this organization to the forefront and help in any way we can."

The brainchild of Maria Bailey, author of "The Ultimate Mom Book" and host of Mom Talk Radio, National Mom's Nite Out™ is timed just before the official Mother's Day holiday for a reason.
"Born out of the idea that most moms are busy taking care of other mothers on Mother's Day, National Mom's Nite Out™ was meant to give moms an excuse to take the night off. Building on last year's success, we are anticipating even more parties and participation as the excitement builds for this year's event." Bailey said.

According to Bailey, last year's inaugural event drew national attention as Twitter's #3 "Trending Topic", over 10 million media impressions through blogs, vlogs, websites and other social media outlets and 400 Mom Bloggers participating in over 1000 nationally-organized events. Dozens of sponsors provided prizes for the events, as well as products and services for Dads or caregivers to use with the children at home.

From homes to hotels and malls to restaurants, moms will gather to enjoy refreshments, entertainment and prizes courtesy of local community groups and major sponsors. Teams of mom bloggers are organizing events in New York, Los Angeles, Dallas and dozens of cities in between.
Hundreds of mom-organized parties and gatherings will be taking place that evening, and videos will be streaming live through MomTV.com. If Moms can't attend an event at a physical location, they can still take part in the festivities through the MomTV live streams, or through online chats, Skype and Twitter tweet-ups.

· What: National Mom's Nite Out is shaping up to be the largest cooperative effort of Mommy groups, Mom-focused organizations, bloggers and vloggers- all coming together for one great night in support of motherhood.

· When: Thursday, May 6, 2010 (Thursday before Mother's Day)

· Where: Embassy Suites, Harrison Ave, Cary, NC

· Cost: $20 (all proceeds benefit Nancy's Butterfly Fund)
